Network expertise meets greater efficiency:
NEO Suite reduces workforce costs

Customer benefits

Goodbye to the old system for fault management and maintenance. No more faulty and inefficient WFM systems and poor usability! And goodbye to unsuitable checklists or a lack of mobility. The NEO Suite brings a new flow to Düren’s energy. With a high degree of automation and more self-organization instead of central dispatching. In addition, end-to-end digital processes – including mobile data capture on site and further processing without media discontinuity. And everything is perfectly integrated into existing systems.

Leitungspartner GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Düren GmbH, the energy supplier and energy service provider for the city and region of Düren. Since 2013, Leitungspartner GmbH has been the operator of all distribution networks for electricity, gas and water supply as well as local heating systems and fiber optic lines within the Stadtwerke Düren network.

This work does not only take place in offices. Many Leitungspartner GmbH teams are out and about on construction sites, checking systems, inspecting cables or working on site in the event of faults. The management partners provide the necessary equipment and modern tools, including digital ones, so that the staff can do their job reliably and safely. With the integration of the NEO Suite, a significant step forward has now been taken.

ProTec project: the digitalization of core technical processes.

The initial impetus for the switch to NEO Performance was the lack of further development of the legacy system. In addition, the WFM module proved to be error-prone and not really congruent with the daily requirements. There was neither a mobile solution nor was it possible to automate cyclical maintenance planning. Activities were only carried out on demand, which was not always efficient, especially when it came to fault management. The result: no digital forms or workflows, no exchange with external service providers, time-consuming, manual evaluations and data transfers and, ultimately, low acceptance of the entire system among users.

Under the project name “ProTec”, the old system at Leitungspartner was to be replaced and the technical processes for fault management and maintenance were to be put on a digital basis. From resource planning to reporting. With the use of the NEO Suite – and with the support of Axians.

The criteria for the solution: Complex? Yes. Complicated? No.

A holistic service and maintenance management system was required. Transparent and efficient. Fully digitalized and consistently user-centric. Specifically, the NEO Suite includes the following features for management partners:

  • Clear capacity analyses
  • High degree of automation without central dispatching
  • Simple self-organization of the teams via pool orders
  • Mobile data acquisition on site
  • Further processing without media discontinuity
  • Modern and, above all, future-proof software
  • Maximum user-friendliness
  • Broad integration into existing systems

Efficiency gains that pay off. Day after day.

Since using the NEO Suite, the administrative processing time for fault reports at Leitungspartner GmbH has been reduced by an average of 44%. In total, a saving of around 500 working hours per year. The administrative processing times for maintenance and inspection are even more impressive: reduced by 55% on average. This has already resulted in annual savings of around 2,700 working hours.

Smart automation. Amortized quickly!

Where previously there was no automation at all, 41% of the process steps in maintenance and almost 27% of the processes in network construction are now automated.

Taking into account the significant reduction in process costs, Leitungspartner GmbH therefore expects the “ProTec” project to pay for itself quickly. The return on investment for all measures is expected within four years.

Changeover without any trouble. The “silent migration`` principle.

Leitungspartner GmbH also used the advantages of “silent migration” à la Axians for this project. This involves an independent migration by the Axians team, without any disruption or effort on the part of the customer. Customer-specific adaptations to the solution are transferred from the current client to the new version. No changes, i.e. disruptions, are made to the processes or functions.

For clients, this elegant process offers a whole host of other benefits, including the conservation of resources, less coordination effort, in-depth pre-testing by Axians, ready-made clients available for acceptance and, last but not least, generally lower costs for the entire changeover.

Rethinking is an integral part of our corporate strategy. With this in mind, as a management partner we are also open to innovative projects that help us to provide the right answers to the questions of the future. Of course, the right partners and the right individual solution are also crucial. We found both with the Axians team and the NEO Suite for the end-to-end digitalization of our core technical processes. As a result, there are now significant increases in efficiency whether in the management of fault messages or in maintenance itself. All with more self-organization in the workforce and without paperwork in filing cabinets.

Dueren's energy. ECO in the supply. NEO during service.

Leitungspartner GmbH has been operating the distribution networks for electricity, gas and water supply, the local heating systems and the fiber optic networks for broadband communication in the city of Düren and the municipality of Merzenich since 1 January 2013. The approximately 170 employees ensure the trouble-free transportation of electricity, gas, water and heat and are also responsible for the further expansion of broadband communication for fast Internet.
